Its no secret that our creative contributor Michelle from Scout & Jem is obviously crazy about art and jewellery so when I asked her what I should focus on this week it was of no surprise when she said Bibi van der Velden. Bibi was born in New York, and grew up in England and The Netherlands. Her mother, a well known artist and inspiration led her her passion of visual arts. She was educated in the fine arts and studied internationally at prestigious art schools. Her passion for jewellery making came when her worlds collided between her love for travel, artifacts, antiques and art. “Wearable works of art”, is her journey of creative development using unique materials and techniques mixed with the use of precious stones make each piece whimsical and exclusive. The many different collections are sold in high end department stores world wide. Bibi also made a bridal collection with pearls, diamonds and gold which I think Michelle already had her eye on now that her weekend wedding in Scotland is getting closer.
