Our art contributor Michelle has a unique circle of friends in and around the art world. Ever time I visit her house I see a new piece of artwork, sculpture or object. She surrounds herself with beautiful “objets d’art” whether it be paintings, photography, taxidermy or just simple art books. A big part of her collection of art comes from galleries and antique markets but she has a secret as well, which she shared with us. Her good friend San Ming, a well known name in the fashion and interior world who is a former stylist now artist/ interior designer. Known simply as MING, he gives special by invite only parties for a selective elite group of people, fashion stylists, designers, artists, socialites, and personal shoppers. His parties are “What you see you can buy” and everything is for sale. He reinvents his Amsterdam home each time by completely renovating, making each time a new experience and fills the walls with beautiful paintings, sculptures, and objects. He offers champagne and chic d’oeuvres and while you are there I imagine you meet some incredibly interesting people and at the same time score yourself a beautiful unique piece of art. Ming has 4 parties each year and every time is different then the last.
